The sector vice-president of Public Works and Services, Juan José Ramírez, set up a working table with the Venezuelan Chamber of Shopping Centers (CAVECECO) to coordinate the execution of the National Energy Savings Plan, instructed by the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez.
Ramírez explained that the full plan was presented and measures were agreed to rationalize electricity consumption in the face of increased demand.
“We reached agreements for a rational use of the electrical system and to strengthen self-generation during peak demand times,” he said.
The president of CAVECECO, Claudia Itriago, stressed that the sector will reinforce practices already applied in previous years.
“We are going to promote an awareness campaign and implement programmed shutdowns, sensors and self-generation in shopping malls,” he said.
CAVECECO reiterated that, although the sector represents 2.7% of the consumption of the National Electricity System, it will maintain actions to contribute to the stability of the service.
