As part of the Venezuela Renace Plan, the ministers for Ecosocialism, Nelson Rodríguez, and for Tourism, Daniella Cabello, led a community assembly in Galipán, in the Waraira Repano National Park, to coordinate actions to allow the progressive and safe reopening of the town after the damage caused by the earthquakes of last June 24.
During the day, the authorities
inspected the roads and slopes of the sector, in addition to holding a
meeting with community spokespersons, farmers and
tourism service providers to assess the needs of the area and define priorities for care.
Rodríguez reported that it was agreed to set up
a working table composed of technicians from the National Park Institute (INPARQUES), the Ministry for
Tourism and the Socialist Agrotourism Commune Galipán, with the purpose of
coordinating reconstruction, environmental recovery and care for communities.
For her part, Minister Daniella Cabello
said that the actions also seek to reactivate the local economy, by
once again boosting the activity of inns, restaurants, businesses and
agricultural producers, on whose services the livelihood of many families in Galipán depends.
“Galipán thrives on tourism. Every inn, restaurant, farm and business represents the livelihood of hundreds of families. For this reason, reactivating its activity in a progressive and safe manner is also part of its reconstruction,” he said.
