Bolivarian Government deploys more than 700 prevention officials to deal with emergencies due to rains

The head of Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, who approximately 700 workers, including the National Police, the ZODI Capital Corps, the Fire Department, Civil Protection and the various security entities, were deployed in various parts of Greater Caracas to attend to emergencies due to heavy rains caused by Tropical Wave No. 40.

Regarding the clearance and cleaning of the Valle-Coche highway, Fernández said that the removal of sediment and debris accumulated by heavy rains began immediately.

In addition, the head of government of Caracas, assured that attention is not limited to the highway sector. “We also have teams deployed in the other affected areas of the city of Caracas, responding to people, accompanying them and in permanent direct communication with President Delcy Rodríguez,” he added.

Speaking to Venezolana de Televisión, Fernández said that the head of state instructed all security forces and corporations to work on road recovery and guarantee free passage in all scenarios where there has been an illness.

In addition, he stressed that people who were traveling on the road at the time of the emergency were treated in a timely manner by the authorities.

He reiterated that the monitoring of weather conditions remains active in vulnerable areas, while evaluation teams continue to tour the affected sectors to provide assistance to the population.
