Bolivarian Government of Anzoátegui rehabilitates the historic center of Barcelona

As part of the balance sheet of the “Barcelona my city” plan, the Bolivarian government of the state of Anzoátegui handed over Carabobo Street in the capital of the entity to the town, completely recovered and renovated.

This is the first rehabilitated section of this plan that includes the intervention of 13 other roads with patrimonial value. On the road, 508 linear meters of sidewalks and 17 access ramps were built, aimed at facilitating the transit of people with reduced mobility and visual impairment.

Also included was the installation of 291 linear meters of podotactile guide (embossed surfaces on the ground designed to be detected by the feet or the white cane, guiding and alerting visually impaired people to safe routes), as part of the accessibility system that will be incorporated into the main arteries of the center of Barcelona, details a regional press release.

In addition, 19 signage elements were placed, which identify the intersections of In addition, 52 facades were rehabilitated and painted, respecting the heritage preservation guidelines established in the municipal ordinance. The works also included the improvement of the road with pavicreto, the adaptation of grids and drains, and the installation of 150W luminaires, which made it possible to optimize public lighting and safety of the urban corridor, one of the busiest in the city.
