The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reported that this weekend the eight specialized technicians who had been isolated while working on the maintenance of the Guamacán Transfer Tunnel, in the Turimiquire Water System, in eastern Venezuela, were rescued unharmed.

In a statement, the Sectorial Vice Presidency for Public Works and Services explained that the rescue operation, in inter-institutional coordination and international technical standards, with officials from security and emergency care agencies, “was key to carrying out a precise operation that guaranteed the safe extraction of all committed personnel.”

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reports the success of the rescue operation carried out in the Turimiquire water system, where the eight specialized technicians who had been isolated in the Guamacán Transfer Tunnel were rescued safe and sound, who fulfilled the highest values of their service working for the recovery of the water supply in the eastern region, had their lives compromised.

The immediate response of the Venezuelan State made it possible to activate a joint high-level deployment, led by security and emergency response agencies.

Inter-institutional coordination, under international technical standards, was key to executing a precise operation that guaranteed the safe extraction of all committed personnel.

This result reaffirms the responsiveness, professionalism and cohesion of Venezuelan institutions in situations of risk, as well as the commitment of the National Government to the protection of the life and safety of those who commit themselves to public service through their personal sacrifice.
