The Baseball Leagues of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Mexico conspire to have the headquarters of the Caribbean Series 2026 taken away from Venezuela, announcing that they will not attend due to “external situations”, the same excuse they used to take the headquarters of Barquisimeto in 2019.

In a statement, the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) reported that the leagues of Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Mexico stated that due to “external situations beyond their control, they are unable to attend the 2026 Caribbean Series, scheduled from February 1 to 7 in Venezuela.”

In the document, the CBPC (whose representatives have already come to Venezuela to learn how the preparations are going) indicated that it recognizes the position of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), which has reiterated that it has the necessary organizational conditions for the holding of the event.

“The Confederation, together with its Member Leagues, recognizes and values the work carried out by the LVBP and its Organizing Committee, as well as the efforts made in planning the 2026 Caribbean Series,” he said.

However, following the notification of 3 traditional leagues, the CBPCs are “responsibly” evaluating the situation, considering the different alternatives available.

This is not the first time that they want to remove the venue of Venezuelan sporting events using absurd pretexts and it has been demonstrated that the country is able not only to provide security to all visitors, but to provide shows at the height and with mass attendance.
