The president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, arrived this Friday in the town of Jamnagar, Gujarat state, in India, as part of the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The head of state was received by local authorities, who accompanied her in planting a tree “whose actions are part of the lasting friendship between India and Venezuela,” Venezolana de Televisión reported.

“As part of World Environment Day, Rodríguez planted a Cluster Fig Tree, which, in India, is a sacred and medicinal tree native to Asia. Its most distinctive feature is that its fruits grow in dense clusters directly on its trunk and main branches (known as caulifloria),” said the State channel.
