During his Con El Mazo Dando program, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, once again reaffirmed that the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence, approved on February 19, 2026 by the National Assembly (AN), “has no future character, it is about the crimes that are contemplated in the law.”
“You have the right to amnesty if the crime is covered by law, but if you commit a crime on April 30, 2026, don't say that you get the Amnesty Act, what you get is jail,” he ratified.
In this regard, during broadcast number 563, he stated that many believe that “from here on they can do whatever they want”.
“You are being given a great opportunity, this Bolivarian, revolutionary democracy is the one that is giving you the opportunity. They don't like it when you tell the truth,” he emphasized.
He recalled that the fourth Republic did not approve a single Amnesty Law, “not a single one, on the contrary, there came a time when the trials in the fourth Republic were called summary judgments”.
Cabello also criticized some organizations that seek to apply the Amnesty Law “to drug traffickers, demanding and demanding the release of murderers (...) how many enjoyed being set on fire in Orlando Figuera”.
“We can look for the press of those days, to see if any opposition leader, just one, has spoken out asking the country for forgiveness and saying that this was not right. None,” he stressed.
He added that “they are defending corrupt people, just to stage a scandal”.
