The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, this Wednesday, March 25, criticized the way in which members of the extremist right express their rejection of the Venezuelan athlete Yulimar Rojas, because she is a woman and her skin is black.

“I'm going to tell them what I think, they're angry at Yulimar because they say she's Chavista, but in truth, I think deep down they're angry because she's a woman and because she's black, because they're racist,” she said.

This was stated when he dismissed a publication by the longliner Maibort Petit, who in a publication tried to downplay Venezuela's victory with the Baseball World Cup, “this lady sticks her glass of poison (...) she doesn't know anything about baseball, she doesn't have the slightest idea and starts talking”.

In his Con El Mazo Dando program, broadcast number 565, he said that Yulimar Rojas “comes from the humble strata, but he is a source of pride for Venezuela.”

Cabello stressed that every time a Venezuelan athlete visits the Miraflores Palace to receive a tribute, he is immediately attacked by the extremist right, calling him a Chavista and even attacking his family.

“You (extremists) have to define yourself, because these are exceptional Venezuelans, there are even scientists and they are applauded,” he said.
