The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela
(PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, warned this Monday that the
country's extreme right is maintaining its agenda of violence, such as when it launched the coup d'etat of April 11, 12 and 13, 2002 against Commander Hugo Chávez.
“These are the same people who, every time they have
adverse results in an election, say they are not going to recognize the victory. They are the same
people who have not understood, today they do not understand that this country wants peace,
tranquility, they have not understood it. They have not understood that we want our
children to go to schools in peace and quiet, that we want
families to enjoy family unity, without any problem, for the country to
start producing everywhere,” said Cabello during the weekly
press conference of the red awning.
He stressed that, in addition to not understanding, “they continue with their agenda of
violence and are going to try to do anything to generate violence.
We are cured of that now and we know how to respond well, in any case,
but it's good to always alert him.”
He recalled that April 11, 12 and 13 “was a hard blow for
those who somehow tried to carry out a coup d'etat, it lasted
less than 48 hours and the People and the Armed Forces returned to the legitimate
president of our country. That hurt them a lot”; however, Commander
Chávez called on all sectors to dialogue, even “his executioners”.
