The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reiterated on Monday his rejection of the violent actions that the extreme right seeks to promote on October 19, when the canonization of José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles will take place in the country.

“They are the same creators of the most unusual things. Here in 2002 they said that there was no Christmas (...) October 19 is a historic event for our country, because José Gregorio Hernández is the faith of the People. Calling for acts of violence that day has to do with people who are not normal, they have a very high level of madness,” Cabello stressed during the usual weekly press conference of the red awning.

He pointed out that extremists call for violence that day in the face of the failure of other dates. “Then on the 19th, when everything is still in peace here, as it will be because they will not be able to, they will say: 'No, the thing will be on December 25 (...) Madness, desperation, is the permanent deception of their own people,” he said.
