This Thursday, April 09, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stated that 20 years ago, sectors of the extreme right wanted to charge the people for having elected Commander Hugo Chávez, in trying to request the annulment of the Law on Community Councils.

In this regard, during the March commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Organic Law of Community Councils, in Caracas, he recalled that as soon as the Law was enacted, sectors of the Venezuelan opposition went to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to request its repeal.

“The opposition sectors, the same ones that today applaud bombings, who call for looting, invasions and sanctions, went to the Supreme Court to ask for the annulment of the laws of Popular Power to take revenge on the People, to charge the People who had elected Hugo Chávez,” he said.

He also reaffirmed that this is a sign that these sectors “do not like the people to be organized”.
