The Uyapar, Dr. Raúl Leoni Otero de Guiaparo and Isabel Gómez Pediatric Hospitals, located in Ciudad Guayana, Caroní municipality of Bolívar state, were connected by CANTV to the fiber optic network through the Aba Ultra service, as part of the Dr. José Gregorio Hernández Hospital Recovery Plan.
To complete the project, the company's technical staff laid 1,950 meters of optical fiber and installed the necessary infrastructure to bring connectivity to the administrative and operational areas of the three healthcare centers.
According to a press release, among the interconnected spaces are administrative areas, emergency for adults, pediatrics, obstetrics and operating rooms, among others. Health centers will also have Ultra Zones, which will allow Internet access by scanning a QR code in enabled areas.
Dilimar Ágreda, IT coordinator of the Venezuelan Social Security Institute (IVSS) in the Guiana region, highlighted the improvement in connectivity and its contribution to the administrative processes of healthcare centers.
“We have streamlined response times. We no longer need to travel to any other area, both internal and external, to manage the procedures; we process everything via the web and respond in a timely manner to requests,” said Ágreda.
