Minister Cabello: Homicide rate in the country in the last six months is 14% lower than 2025

The Sectorial Vice President for Policy, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, referring to the crime rates of the last six months, reported that in Venezuela the homicide rate is around 14% lower than last year, “we come from 25% lower, we have been reducing.”

This was stated in La Guaira, where he supervised the controlled demolition of a building that was damaged by the two earthquakes that occurred in the country on June 24.

He emphasized that “in history, forgive me for saying this, but this is thanks to the men and women of the police, the National Guard, in the history of Venezuela we have never, ever reached the levels of security that our country presents, at any time.”

“Right now, the crime rate is 1.4 per 100,000 inhabitants, that is not the case anywhere in the world. There are the numbers for them to be audited, to be checked and people say that they can go out on the street, anywhere, at any time,” he said.

Cabello also said that “whoever comes to Venezuela who is from another country, says here people carry their cell phones on the street. They don't steal anyone's cell phone here. Where do we come from? that from here they killed a boy for a pair of shoes, here in this country”.

He recalled that “a good weekend, in Caracas, quiet in Caracas, in peace in Caracas there were 30 dead, there are the statistics, there are the newspapers of the time that can be reviewed”.

“Right now here in Caracas, a person murdered, it's already news, before it was like 30 dead, 35 every week and one weekend they were terrible here in Caracas,” he reaffirmed.
