Caracas Mayor's Office begins controlled demolition and removal of masonry in Villa Savoya building

This weekend, the Mayor's Office of Caracas began controlled demolition and masonry removal work on the Villa Savoya building, located in the San Bernardino residential area.
From her Instagram user, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, specified that this 10-story structure suffered severe damage to its infrastructure due to the double earthquake of last June 24.
The senior official explained that the technical crews carry out the supervised demolition of walls, areas of the ground floor and other specific points indicated in the risk inspections, as a prior phase to the reconstruction of the building.
