In the spaces of the House of Freedom and Culture Ali Primera, in
Caracas, a workshop was held on demonstrations with traditional roots, in
which they presented some of the most representative dances from the states of
Anzoátegui, Bolívar and Yaracuy.
During the day, the facilitators of the Movement of Cultivators, Identity and Tradition of the People, offered a sample of the country's diverse cultural expressions.
The
teachers Clara Lunar, Joglys Lira and Elisabeth Ramírez shared with the
participants events such as the Oriental Diversions, the Mare-Mare
Kariña, the Guayanese calypso and the Yaracuyana Creole polka.
The
meeting stood out for the display of knowledge and the mystique of the
female cultivators, who approached each expression from its historical and cultural value,
highlighting the importance of preserving these traditions in communities.
During
the activity, the teachers also reflected on their role in
transmitting this knowledge. Clara Lunar pointed out that sharing these
ancient practices makes it possible to “ensure that the people's hearts continue to beat in the
new generations”, while Joglys Lira stressed the need to work
on the sustainability of traditions to prevent their disappearance.
For her part, Elisabeth Ramírez affirmed that this type of exchange
strengthens the identity and sense of belonging of the Venezuelan people,
while turning culture into an element of defense of cognitive sovereignty.
The Alí Primera House of Freedom and Culture functions as a space dedicated to meeting, training and promoting artistic and cultural activities in the Venezuelan capital, promoting initiatives related to the preservation of traditions and cultural creation.
