State Railroad Institute restores full commercial service and regular schedule

The State Railroad Institute (IFE) reported, this Monday, that commercial transportation service from La Cúa to Caracas was re-established, after the derailment of a train on Sunday at the La Rinconada terminal.
“The State Railroad Institute informs all users that the commercial service from Cúa “General Ezequiel Zamora” Station to the Caracas “Libertador Simón Bolívar” Terminal Station is operational,” the IFE reported in a statement published on its social networks.
He also indicated that the Ezequiel Zamora 1 Railway System will operate on its regular schedule.
In addition, he asked all users to be attentive to instructions from the operating staff of the stations.
“The IFE reaffirms the commitment and vocation of service to the user people and guarantees the mobility of the inhabitants of the Valles del Tuy,” he said.
In another statement, the IFE reported that the train's derailment left eight people injured, all in stable conditions and under medical supervision.
The authorities have opened an investigation with the purpose of determining the causes that generated the incident.
