The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, highlighted this Thursday the importance “of promoting compassion and respect as fundamental values”, in the context of the International Day to Counter Hate Speech.
Through his Telegram channel, the Venezuelan diplomat pointed out that “hate speech is the germ of atrocious crimes that could be committed against anyone, and especially against minorities and vulnerable populations.”
He stressed that, on this date, “it is important to remember that intolerance, xenophobia and racism have no place in the world we are building, based on peace and social justice.”
