This Tuesday, nervousness gripped international financial markets, the main stock markets opened with heavy losses, while energy prices experienced an immediate escalation.
The instability responds to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a measure taken after recent attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran by Israel and the United States (USA).
The fear of an escalation of the war caused a massive liquidation of assets. European indices led the decline, highlighting declines in the industrial and banking sectors:
Madrid (IBEX 35): -3.56%
Milan (FTSE MIB): -3.21%
Frankfurt (DAX): -2.78%
Paris (CAC 40): -2.15%
London (FTSE 100): -2.02%
On the Asian continent, the impact was even more severe for South Korea's Kospi index, which closed with a drop of 7.24%.
Oil and gas are on the rise, the interruption of traffic through Hormuz, one of the most important energy arteries in the world.
