The Sanctuary of Our Lady of La Candelaria in Caracas will celebrate a Eucharist this Friday in memory of those who died during the earthquakes of last June 24.

The church authorities set 5:00 in the afternoon as the time for the liturgical act commemorating the first month of the double earthquake that shook the central region.

The religious call is in addition to the activities programmed by various Venezuelan organizations, including the University of Health Sciences (UCS) “Hugo Chávez Frías”, which promotes a Great Prayer Chain to assist those affected by the devastating natural phenomenon that affected several federal entities and the Capital District.

This spiritual day will take place simultaneously at 5:00 in three strategic points: Los Caracas in the state of La Guaira, Plaza Venezuela in Caracas and Altamira in Miranda, maintaining a direct link with the 107 temporary camps that protect families displaced by the earthquake.

The religious institution, through its Instagram profile, described the day as a collective embrace to pay homage to the victims and strengthen the spirits of the survivors, in a gesture of solidarity that transcends religion and becomes a symbol of national resilience in the face of tragedy.
