CONATEL announces progress in repairing submarine fiber optic cable affected by earthquakes

This Monday, the company Cirion Technologies reported that it began technical inspection work at the point of damage to the submarine cable damaged by earthquakes in Venezuela, as well as the execution of integrity and connectivity tests.
From its user on the social network Instagaram, the National Telecommunications Commission reported that after the arrival of the Wave Sentinel vessel in national waters and the completion of the entry procedures, the company indicated that they are moving forward with the identification of both ends of the cable.
In addition, the company explained that an underwater robot descended to the site of the cut to locate the affected ends, while carrying out the evaluations that will allow defining the immediate steps for their repair.
The contingency plan included the stabilization of the network, the progressive expansion of capacity, regulatory efforts and the transfer of the Wave Sentinel vessel to Venezuela to intervene in the submarine system.
