CONVECAR: 98% of the meat and milk consumed in Venezuela is domestically produced

More than 98% of the meat and milk that Venezuelans consume is produced in the country, we are the main producer in the tropics, said the president of the Venezuelan Meat Council (CONVECAR), Luis Pérez Stuve.

In this regard, in statements replicated by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), the union representative highlighted the economic contribution of the sector and that Venezuelan livestock activity has 400 years of experience

The CONVECAR spokesman said that the country maintains sustained production, backed by technical advances that have made it possible to improve food quality.

“We have been producing meat for 400 years and we know how to do it, not only that, we are 125,000 producers who generate more than three million jobs,” said Pérez Stuve.

On the other hand, the manager raised the need to guarantee conditions that favor the continuity of production and the generation of jobs.

In this regard, the president of the chamber called on the National Assembly (AN) to resume the discussion of the Reform of the Criminal Law on Livestock Activity to provide greater legal certainty that will allow producers to concentrate on their activities.
