The former president of Ecuador Rafael Correa presented his full support for the decision of the current president Daniel Noboa in the face of the “internal armed conflict” that intensified this Tuesday in several important cities in the country.
Through a video posted on social networks, Correa said that the country “is experiencing a real nightmare, something unthinkable, unimaginable very recently, as a result of the systematic destruction of the rule of law, of the errors, of the hatred accumulated over the last seven years and of which we have been one of its main victims.”
“Today is a time for national unity. Organized crime has declared war on the State and the State must prevail, the State must win,” he added on the social network X.
At a time when the country is under a state of emergency, violence intensified this Tuesday, with a series of attacks on police officers, businesses, private vehicles and the takeover by armed criminals of a television channel and the University of Guayaquil.
“President Daniel Noboa, have our full and unrestricted support. Please don't give in. Any mistakes, our political discrepancies, we will discuss them the day after the victory. The homeland will win again,” he stressed.
