Through intelligence patrols and working on complaints received by the community, officials of the Organized Crime Division of the Bolivarian National Police Corps (CPNB) succeeded in capturing three individuals allegedly linked to a human trafficking network known as “Manrri”, which operated in the Delta Amacuro state.

The detainees, aged 53, 38 and 19, were apprehended during a patrol in the state's waters. The procedure also allowed the rescue of approximately 48 people who would be fraudulently transferred to the island of Trinidad and Tobago, details a press release from the Ministry of People's Power for Internal Relations, Justice and Peace.

At the time of the review, the authorities found that the group of people was without the required documentation or the necessary safety guarantees for navigation, posing a serious risk to their lives.

The detainees were placed under the command of the Public Prosecutor's Office, while the victims received care and protection from the competent bodies.
