The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, indicated that the People demand the lifting of sanctions for the full restoration of electricity service.

“The economic blockade and sanctions have negatively impacted an essential service for the population, and that is why it is the need and it is the call of the Venezuelan people to cease economic sanctions against our country, unilateral coercive measures, so that we can fully recover this (electrical) service,” he said this Saturday.

During a strategic meeting with the General Staff of the Electric Power Cabinet to strengthen the stability of the National Electricity System (SEN), he explained that, despite these restrictions, the country is moving forward with its own means in a recovery process accompanied by strategic projects to consolidate the service.

He noted that the system has regained capacity, but it has not yet reached the levels necessary to meet the demand of the population or the pace of national economic growth.

The president in charge stressed that the General Staff of the Electric Power Cabinet maintains a permanent plan for monitoring and executing priority works to ensure stability. He added that “while we, with our own efforts, are going through a process of recovery and projects that are strategic in the consolidation of the national electricity system, the invitation is to citizen awareness.”

Rodríguez reiterated that the lifting of sanctions is essential to accelerate the modernization of the system and guarantee a reliable service for the country.
