(Caracas City, August 14-21, 2015)

  • 10 years ago, José Pérez Venta, Samuel Ángulo and Carlos Trejo Mosquera, members of Primero Justicia (PJ) and Voluntad Popular (VP), close collaborators of Leopoldo López, confessed how they murdered and dismembered the 53-year-old merchant Liana Hergueta.
  • The murderers, arrested for homicide classified as a degree of malevolence, for four years were part of the security rings of leaders of First Justice and Popular Will, escorting María Corina Machado, Carlos Vecchio, Leopoldo López, Henrique Capriles, Carlos Ocariz and Antonio Ledezma on several occasions
  • The actress of Cuban origin, María Conchita Alonso, and her brother, Robert Alonso, are also part of this criminal plot, through a clandestine platform funded by the United States called Operation Libertad Venezuela (OLV), created in February 2011 as a kind of coordinating body for small fanatized groups surrounding the overthrow of the president Hugo Chavez Frias.
  • For these purposes, one of them in particular, Pérez Venta, was trained by retired Army officer Antonio José Rivero, leader of Popular Will (VP).
  • Pérez Venta was prominent under the orders of senior leaders of the Venezuelan opposition, after receiving training in a paramilitary camp located on the Colombian border, where he learned the most atrocious methods to assassinate his political objectives, which he used with Liana Hergueta.
  • From the investigations carried out by the then Minister of Internal Relations, Justice and Peace, Major General González López, it was determined that Pérez Venta and Ángulo summoned their victim to apartment No. 06-05 of the Isnotú building, located on the corner of Canónigos, in the parish of Santa Rosalía, where they gave him an electric shock to paralyze her and then they proceeded to insult, suffocate and dismember her.
  • Liana Hergueta, also a member of Primero Justicia, was linked to the financial arm of the Guarimbas in 2014. Given his closeness to these groups, he met Trejo Mosquera in Plaza Alfredo Sadel in Las Mercedes.
  • The latter defrauded her in a fraudulent move to exchange dollars for bolivars, which is why Hergueta published photos of Trejo Mosquera on all social networks, with detailed explanations of his modus operandi.
  • When all his criminal acts were exposed to the public light, he then led to the death of Hergueta at the hands of Pérez Venta y Ángulo.
  • The three, Pérez Venta, Ángulo and Trejo Mosquera, were arrested and in their statements they stated their close collaboration with opposition leaders and their criminal methods, and were convicted and confessed before the Venezuelan justice system.
