The president of the Special Commission for Monitoring the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence, Jorge Arreaza, reported that a total of 6,071 people have obtained full freedom after the execution of this legal instrument.

The Report of the Special Commission for the Monitoring of the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence, published by Arreaza on its social networks, indicated that they have received 9,419 requests, which are being cleaned up, because there are repeated requests and some that do not correspond to the assumptions of the Amnesty Law.

“For cases in which it does not correspond to the facts contemplated by the Law, it is being coordinated with the competent bodies, such as the Program for Peace and Democratic Coexistence, the Domestic Policy Committee of the National Assembly, the Commission for the Revolution of Justice,” he explained.

He also explained that 5,826 people were at large with precautionary measures, while 245 were deprived of their liberty.

“The Venezuelan military justice system has been working on the cases and last Friday it notified the application of alternative justice measures to 31 people. It is necessary to note that military justice has its own methods,” he said.

Arreaza emphasized that in terms of speed, it is important to keep in mind that 15 days count from the request for an amnesty.
