Diosdado Cabello: Leopoldo López will not be able to escape the corruption investigation

The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, confirmed that the nationalization of Leopoldo López as a Spanish citizen is motivated by the need to avoid an investigation into corruption and money laundering resulting from the management of humanitarian aid funds and resources managed during his tenure at the head of the companies Monomeros and Citgo.

“As several opposition analysts say, Leopoldo López will try to be an MEP because it is a way of trying not to be investigated, but that investigation is going sooner rather than later, but it is necessary considering the size of the embezzlement,” he said in his Con El Mazo Dando program.

He satirized the extravagant attempt of López, who ordered a historian to build a direct genetic line with Simon Bolivar, despite the fact that the Liberator had no recognized descendants.

In that sense, he did not hesitate to warn King Felipe VI of López's possible plans to assault power in the Iberian country and proclaim himself monarch.
