During Con El Mazo Dando's 563 program, Diosdado Cabello reiterated that Leopoldo López's surrender to the authorities was conditioned on death threats from the radicalism led by Antonio Ledezma.

“They were going to kill him, his own family admitted it in front of me, when I went to his house because of President Maduro's insurrections, and I said: We have information that you are going to be killed, at a rally in Miranda Park. And his dad, mom and wife said that they had that information too, but who was going to kill him? Antonio Ledezma! “, he revealed.

Cabello also pointed out that at the risk of his physical integrity, he personally went to the Francisco de Miranda Air Base in La Carlota to verify López's condition, in an area taken over by the extreme right.

“Sometimes you are reckless with yourself and irresponsible in your actions when you are full of adrenaline, but I remember that on February 20 I had to cross the city only to the La Carlota air base where Leopoldo López was, that is, I exposed my life for that rat, for God's sake,” exclaimed Cabello.

In 2014, an arrest warrant was issued against Leopoldo López for his participation in La Salida, a call for participation in violent and destabilizing protests.
