During his Con El Mazo Dando program, the general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, confirmed that members of the extremist right are defending drug traffickers.

This was stated by Cabello when commenting that the right wing has always been on the side that hurts the humble people. In this regard, during broadcast number 564, he stated that in the Fourth Republic the current governments were vicious with the Petit Vásquez family, referring to the murder of the young Leonel Petit in the government of Raúl Leoni, because of the number of members of this family who were murdered and disappeared.

“I saw an interview (...) shameless guys, the one with the envelope and the silver, (Juan Carlos) Caldera, in which he says that they haven't hurt any Venezuelans. Of course, he closed his eyes not to see when they put a candle in Orlando Figuera,” he said,

He added that Caldera “turned the other way. That's the way they are”

At this point, Cabello read a letter about the armed struggle in Venezuela and the victims of representative democracies, in which he offered details of the assassination of Leonel Petit, as well as other regrettable events against this family.

“No, come tell us stories, because we know the stories of the Fourth Republic,” he said.

He stressed that the members of the governments of Rafael Caldera and Raúl Leoni deny these acts of violence, “because they are even cowards.”
