In room 1 of the Juan Pedro Posani National Museum of Architecture (MUSARQ), the exhibition “From Academia to Professional Practice” was inaugurated, a group exhibition that presents the thesis projects of a group of recently graduated architects and celebrates the decisive step of these young creators from academic training to the professional world, revealing fresh proposals that dialogue with the contemporary challenges of design and urban planning.

The exhibition includes the participation of graduates from various universities in the country, such as the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), the José María Vargas University, the Simon Bolivar University and the Bolivarian University of Venezuela (UBV).

During the inauguration, the director of MUSARQ, Alejandro López, highlighted the value of the projects on display as a reflection of the vision of society, progress and evolution that architects have today. “Cities reflect the society that we are. Mayors should be architects, what better management of a territory than that of a local architect?” , he said.

Among the outstanding projects is that of Jesús Rodríguez De Stefano, an architect who graduated from the José María Vargas University, who presents the “Institute for Neurodiverse People”. His proposal integrates architecture with a social and inclusive perspective, in order to create a space for people with autism, ADD, OCD and other atypical mental disorders.

Rodríguez explained that the project seeks to “bring together people from a certain early age to adulthood” and that the building serves as a meeting point for students and the community.

For her part, Fabiana Valentina Velásquez Sánchez, from the Central University of Venezuela, exhibits “K-3 Sustainable Architectural Design (D.A.S)”. His project is a housing proposal that uses innovative materials and assembly techniques inspired by a post-apocalyptic reality. The central idea is to give a new use to discarded raw materials, by applying the packing strategy for sustainability and ecological treatment.

“The project seeks to design a new way of living, with new materials and construction techniques,” said Velásquez.

This exhibition is consolidated as a crucial link between universities and the world of work, facilitating the transition of graduates and contributing to the country's development from a global and contemporary vision of architecture.
