Fencing athletes won four more medals for Venezuela at the Ayacucho Bolivarian Games

The Venezuelan fencing athletes won four more medals for Venezuela, two silver and the same amount of bronze, in the women's foil and men's sword categories respectively, in the Ayacucho-Lima 2025 Bolivarian Games.

Francisco Limardo started with three victories in the poules phase against his peers from Peru (5-1), Bolivia (5-1) and Panama (5-0), he had only one defeat against the Chilean representative, a close fight in which he fell 3-2, these results allowed him to advance straight to the quarterfinals.

In this next stage, he faced Panamanian José Quiroz, who he beat 15-12 and qualified for the semifinals against fellow Isthmian Arturo Dorati. He also beat it 12-15 to win the gold ticket in the multidisciplinary joust.

The final match was dominated by Colombian Jhon Edison Rodríguez (8-15), who had defeated Jesús Limardo 12-11 in the other semifinal, who shared bronze with the Panamanian Dorati.

After this sum of metals from the Criollos, the sword will seek gold in the men's team sword modality, in the hands of Rubén Limardo and Grabiel Lugo.

In the women's individual foil, Anabella Acurero and Isis Giménez doubled the men's harvest. Carabobeña Acurero contributed money when she gave up 15-5 in the final against Chile's Arantza Inostroza.

The third rung was won by Criolla Giménez and Chilean Lisa Montecinos, who yielded 15-8 to her teammate and leader of this competition, Arantza Inostroza, in the other semifinal.

Venezuelan fencing continues its Bolivarian participation this Tuesday 25th, with Clarismar Farias and Elizabeth Lugo in the women's individual sword and José Quintero and Eliecer Romero in the men's individual sabre.
