The 20th International Book Fair of Venezuela (FILVEN) will be held from July 11 to 21, for the second time, at the National Art Gallery, located in Caracas, as a literary meeting point, in addition to commemorating the anniversaries of several cultural landmarks in the country.

This time, the guest country will be South Africa, while Delta Amacuro will be the leading federal entity, with a literary program that includes book presentations, conferences, forums, talks, workshops, recitals, exhibitions, as well as a space for children and young people.

In the first instance, the 75th anniversary of the magazine Tricolor will be commemorated, a medium intended for early childhood education, and whose first issue was published on March 24, 1949. In this regard, at FILVEN there will be the presentation “Rafael Rivero Oramas: troubadour of talents in adventure roles”, the discussion “The handmade Tricolor magazine as a strategy for reading and writing”, and the book “Creative letters in Tricolor” will be presented.

It will also celebrate the 100th anniversary since the publication of Ifigenia, the first novel by the prominent Venezuelan writer, Teresa de la Parra, a pioneer of feminist literature in Latin America. In this regard, the discussion “100 years of a young lady who wrote because she was annoyed” will be held. Monte Ávila Editores will present a centennial edition and a record of the Venezuelan editions of Ifigenia will be available, edited by the National Library.

Additionally, the Ayacucho Library will be honored for its 50-year history at the service of Latin American thought and imagination. From its founding on September 10, 1974, to the present, the Ayacucho Library has been dedicated to the republication and publication of classics of Latin American literature, from the pre-Hispanic era to the present day.
