Fire extinguishers deal with fire that consumes more than 120 hectares in Henry Pittier National Park

Officials from the Aragua Fire Department, as well as from Civil Protection and the National Park Institute (INPARQUES) carry out the so-called Operation Rain to combat air and land fire in the Henri Pittier National Park, which has been devoured by flames in 120 hectares of its territory.
With the use of the Aragua Police helicopter, which plans to discharge more than 10,000 liters of water onto the critical sources detected, there is an increase in the support of the work of more than 90 officials who carry out direct combat maneuvers on the ground after more than 24 hours of uninterrupted work.
Faced with this situation, the regional government called for calm and citizen awareness while achieving total control of the situation in this important plant lung of the capital of Aragüeña. Despite the environmental emergency and the presence of smoke in various areas of the city, the authorities assured that road traffic to the coastal towns of Choroní and Ocumare flows normally for drivers and transporters.
