Foreign Minister Yván Gil received the Prime Minister of Qatar to strengthen relations

This Tuesday, February 17, the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, received the Prime Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, at the “Simon Bolivar” International Airport in Maiquetia, who arrived in the country to fulfill an extensive work agenda that seeks to strengthen and strengthen Diplomatic Peace relations between the two nations.

This meeting reaffirms the historic relations between Venezuela and Qatar established since 1973, which were later reinforced by President Hugo Chávez starting in 1999.

Relations between Caracas and Doha reached a new level of friendship and cooperation in June 2022, with the visit of President Nicolás Maduro to the State of Qatar, as well as with the visit of the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, to Caracas, in March 2024.

Currently, both nations maintain close cooperation ties in strategic areas ranging from agriculture to investments in different fields.
