Formal trade remains active in unaffected areas of La Guaira

Commercial activity remains active, the Maiquetía parish consolidates an important formal economic dynamic, while the sectors of La Guaira and Carlos Soublette operate normally in their establishments. This was highlighted by the director of the La Guaira Shark Fanatics Movement, Jorge Esaa, who invited families affected by the earthquakes to go to the areas that are operational: “In the meantime, each of their parishes is being rebuilt; go and try to live a normal life in those parishes.”

During an interview with Multimedia VTV, he also mentioned that personally he has “attended the Maiquetía parish, and they manage the same prices as always. There is no price increase that we can say is exaggerated or above other states.” In turn, he stressed that merchants, especially those in Maiquetía, where most of the trade is concentrated, have not engaged in speculations or taken advantage of the situation that the Guaireño people are experiencing.

He emphasized that, from the Tiburones de La Guaira Movement, they promote the creation of economic policies through public and private banking in order to quickly strengthen entrepreneurs, provide financing to established businesses and provide facilities for their reactivation.

“Because through those businesses that were totally devastated by this catastrophe, we generate employment (...) Therefore, we have a lot of hope and a lot of faith that these economic policies will accelerate so that we can once again generate employment for our population in the state of La Guaira,” said the director of the La Guaira Shark Fan Movement.

“Currently, you want to cross the state of La Guaira, you can cross it from El Junko parish to Caruao parish without any problems,” said Esaa, who in turn highlighted the opening of new routes in areas whose main roads were destroyed.

Finally, he stressed that the transport service operates smoothly and that cargo vehicles, such as 350 trucks or gandolas, can reach different parts of the entity without problems.
