G/D Endes Palencia oversees the Safe Return phase of the Easter 2026 device

From the Metropolitan Distributor, and in compliance with the instructions of the Sectorial Vice Presidency for Policy, Public Security and Peace, G/D Endes Palencia reported that the Safe Holy Week 2026 device is already in its final phase. Within the framework of the Safe Return of tourists and vacationers who enjoyed the various recreational areas, parks and beaches suitable throughout the country during the holidays.

“The authorities are deployed welcoming citizens returning from areas in the east of the country, specifically from the states of Anzoátegui, Monagas and Bolívar. To facilitate this process, 37 terrestrial terminals have been prioritized and are being duly serviced by the National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT), ensuring that the flow of passengers to their homes is carried out in an orderly and efficient manner under the necessary technical supervision,” said Deputy Minister Palencia.

With regard to logistics deployment, 3,512 duly established control points have been set up at the national level, with a strategic presence of 419 points along the country's 18 trunk lines. General Palencia emphasized that the fundamental task of these checkpoints is to support and protect the people, providing special care and guidance to all citizens who travel along national roads.

The operation includes the integration of several institutions, including the road service of the Bolivarian National Police Corps, Firefighters, Civil Protection, State and Municipal Police. In addition, the National Anti-Drug Superintendency is carrying out toxicological tests on drivers to ensure that they operate their vehicles in an optimal state of health and balance, thus minimizing risks during the transfer of people to their final destinations.

Finally, the Deputy Minister took the opportunity to urge drivers to take extreme preventive measures before taking the return trip.

Palencia emphasized the importance of using a seat belt, avoiding the consumption of substances that affect driving and carrying out an exhaustive review of the mechanical condition of the vehicle, paying particular attention to the condition of the tires to ensure a smooth closing of the season.
