GNB seized 430 kilos of drugs in Mérida

Troops attached to Zone Command No. 22 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) intercepted and confiscated a shipment of 430 kilos of marijuana and cocaine in the town of Santa Cruz de Mora, Antonio Pinto Salinas municipality in the state of Mérida.

The procedure left two people arrested, as well as the confiscation of “660 pots of marijuana and cocaine, weighing 430 kilos,” said Major General Tomás Antonio Vera Contreras, head of Zone Command No. 22, in statements collected by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN).

The senior military official explained that the cargo was transported hidden in a van-type vehicle through the Santa Marta sector of the aforementioned jurisdiction, where it was intercepted by military personnel, in an action that pays tribute to the results and achievements of Operation Bolivarian Shield, at its apex of the fight against narcotics.

The shipment was inspected at the headquarters of the Zone 22 Command, where it was protected for appropriate procedures and procedures, in accordance with the Organic Drug Law (LOD), while the captured citizens were left at the disposal of the Venezuelan Public Ministry (MP).
