Gobernador Sánchez: Mérida recorded economic growth of 7.69% in trade, tourism and production in 2025

The governor of the state of Mérida, Arnaldo Sánchez, reported that in 2025 the entity registered economic growth of
7.69% in
commercial, tourist and productive indicators.
“We are going to continue to transform our state, to
build a Mérida power, a vision that must be expressed
in the territory,” said Sánchez.
In
2025, the economy of the state of Mérida grew 7.69%, Sánchez highlighted, while stressing that the agro-productive and tourism sectors, in
2025, totaled one million 124,315 tons of food harvested and distributed.
Meanwhile, tourism
ranked 279,000 visitors served in 2025,
including 53,000 people mobilized by air, through local
infrastructures: Juan Pablo Pérez Alfonzo Airport (El Vigía) and Alberto Carnevali National Airport (Mérida)
. The
average annual hotel occupancy stood at 71%.
