The governor of the state of Carabobo, Rafael Lacava, inaugurated the Pediatric Hemato-Oncology Unit at the Dr. Ángel Larralde National General Hospital, located in the municipality of Naguanagua.
According to the publication of the newspaper Úlmas Noticias, this is the first specialized space in the region and will serve more than 1,440 patients a year from the Delta Amacuro, Falcón, Cojedes, Apure, Amazonas and Carabobo states.
This new space has chemotherapy treatment rooms for children and adolescents, “expanding the capacity to care for patients with leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, sarcomas, and other oncological diseases”.
In addition, it was known that it has spaces such as hospitalization and outpatient care; offices, chemotherapy preparation room, isolation room, rest room and waiting room.
“Now we have the possibility of having a unique health center in the entire region dedicated to treating our boys and girls properly, and which will now have a medical staff of nurses and workers who are champions,” he said.
