A total of 570 tons of type III hot asphalt mixture have been placed in the Bolivar parish of the Maracaibo municipality, Zulia state, as part of a road intervention aimed at optimizing traffic in the center of the city and improving the direct connection with Avenida 2 El Milagro.
The work carried out in an area of 3,680 square meters initially included the repair of a wastewater collector by a crew of 36 workers, a step prior to the formation of the leveling and rolling folder.
Specialized machinery is available to carry out the work, including vibrocompactors, tampo, backhoe, finisher, screw, sweeper, dump trucks and tanker trucks.
During an inspection of the area, Governor Luis Caldera reported that the work is being carried out thanks to the State Asphalt Plan.
He also indicated that demarcation work and the installation of cat-eye lighting are planned to provide better conditions and safety for both passers-by and drivers who travel through the sector.
“Through the Ministry of Popular Power for Transport and the Government of Zulia, we have been placing more than 446,000 metric tons of type III hot asphalt throughout the Zulia region, and (we have) more than 311 kilometers recovered, including urban roads, suburban roads, interstate roads and, of course, the major highways at this stage where Venezuela is reborn in 2026,” he said.
