The Government of Zulia paved another 3.5 linear kilometers of the road that connects the municipality of La Cañada de Urdaneta with San Francisco, totaling 9.5 kilometers of road recovered.
The Puerta Urdaneta sector, Chiquinquirá parish, is the community of La Cañada that directly benefited from the work. The first six kilometers of rehabilitated roads correspond to the Hugo Chávez Corridor, said the governor of the entity, Luis Caldera.
He reported that 5,000 tons of hot type 3 asphalt were placed, with a signage and demarcation of 18 kilometers of lines in total, and the placement of 1,200 cat's eyes to ensure a passable road.
He added that, when completed, the main road that provides access to La Cañada de Urdaneta was optimized by one hundred percent. “Now we are going to the other parishes, the rural areas, which are contemplated in the state pavement plan for 2026 and we are preparing for the execution of the 2027 budget,” he added.
For his part, Mayor Roberto Soto explained that the recovered road that connects the municipality of San Francisco with La Cañada de Urdaneta benefits both public transport and heavy and industrial cargo transport, which is abundant due to its proximity to the Llenadero de Bajo Grande (gasoline) and the Venezuelan Petroleum Companies (PDVSA), which are recovering production in the state of Zulia and in Venezuela.
Soto also said that the municipality has 10 kilometers of coastline and an important fishing and fish farming activity that benefits by facilitating communication with the south of Maracaibo and the entire metropolitan area of the capital city.
