Governor Serrano: The main goal is to provide the peace that the inhabitants of Miranda state deserve

The Governor of Miranda State, Elio Serrano, highlighted that Los Valles del Tuy have 131 Peace Quadrants distributed in the six municipalities.

During the event of Adaptation of the Peace Quadrants in the Valles del Tuy, in Miranda, Serrano asserted that the main goal is to provide the peace that the inhabitants of the state deserve.

He recalled that the Sucre municipality has 90 adequate Peace Quadrants, Plaza and Zamora 50, Los Altos Mirandinos 56, Los Valle del Tuy 131, distributed to the six municipalities (Urdaneta 22, Cristóbal Rojas 22, Lander 40, Simón Bolívar 9, Paz Castillo 26 and Independencia 12).

“We have carried out a complete deployment in the state of Miranda and soon we will be in Barlovento and then in the Metropolitan Area to complete the entire jurisdiction that has 7,950 km² of territory,” he specified.

He pointed out that the darkest decade that Miranda state has had in its history was from 2009 to 2017, where 70 homicides occurred weekly, “in 2016 there were 3,400 homicides, which meant that it was the most violent territory.”

He emphasized that that has changed, in 2025, only 125 homicides occurred throughout the territory. “In Los Valles del Tuy, which was classified as the most dangerous, there were only 32, that is, there were several weeks that there was not a single one,” he said.
