The second vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Grecia Colmenares, stated that while in other countries women continue to demand their rights, in Venezuela the Bolivarian Government guarantees them and incorporates women into participation processes, such as the National Popular Consultation.
“Today, women, families and youth have understood that they must build their dream map. On March 8, we see massive participation because every Venezuelan and Venezuelan over 15 years old has the opportunity to decide on projects that benefit their community.”
Colmenares highlighted the massive mobilization that has taken place since the early hours in Nueva Esparta. He noted that mothers, grandmothers, aunts and young people went to the polling stations to prioritize community projects. He recalled that more than 36,000 initiatives are under debate in the country and that every person over 15 years of age can decide on them.
On International Women's Day, she stressed that Venezuela is making progress in inclusion and in defending the rights of women, who, she said, continue to build their “dream map” and contribute to the development of their communities.
