Grecia Colmenares described Popular Consultation as “a correct answer” from the People

The second vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Grecia
Colmenares, described the first National Popular Consultation 2026, held this
Sunday, March 8, as “a correct response” of the
Bolivarian People and Government to consolidate participatory and leading democracy.
In a telephone contact for the Al Aire program, which
broadcasts Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the deputy recalled that “there were more than
36,000 projects debated throughout the country”, and the people decided what their
priority is and will say what they are going to execute on what is their 'dream map', because they
have the projection of the community they want”.
Colmenares pointed out that this consultation reaffirms that the
commune is the “real antidote to fascism and hate”, as the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has always
said, since it is from the commune that the space where
Venezuelans can be understood.
“When great consensus is reached in the community, projects
can be implemented in search of a better territory,” he emphasized.
