The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported that a Colombian paramilitary group, called The Self-Defense Conquerors of the Sierra, reports that “they were contacted by the Venezuelan extreme right, to enter about a thousand men and generate violence in border states, attack the electricity service and when they shout fraud on July 28, to create the feeling of a civil war in Venezuela.”
In this regard, President Maduro urged the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, to take over the investigation.
“It's very serious (the information) sent to me by intelligence chiefs, police chiefs, military chiefs, they send it to me from Colombia,” he said.
He confirmed to the People that “we are in a battle for the right to peace” and reiterated once again that “no one is going to embarrass Venezuela”.
The information was released by the head of state, referring to information published by the Venezuela News Agency, on his account of the social network X, in which he said: “Paramilitaries from the Sierra Nevada report that their units in the Department of La Guajira were contacted by Venezuelan extreme right groups to attack President @ NicolasMaduro”.
