Head of State: This year we already plan to fully recover 1,500 schools

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced that this year 1,500 schools will be rehabilitated across the country.

“This year we already plan to fully recover 1500 schools, but it is worth remembering that the biggest effort is made by the Venezuelan State. Of every 10 children who go to class, eight go to public schools,” said the president from the Elías Toro National Basic School, in Caracas, during the beginning of the 2026-2027 school year.

He stressed that it is a matter of guaranteeing comprehensive education, “which takes us to our historical roots, but also that leads us to prepare our children. Education, science, technology as a substantial basis of sovereignty, of our country's independence, but also of development,” he said.

The Head of State indicated that more than 75,000 new boys and girls are joining classes this year. “We want maximum strategic objective and full schooling, as well as compliance with 200 days of school for this 2026-2027 cycle,” he said.
