The negative impact of sanctions on our economy, public services, hospital provision and social protection system is indisputable, said the sectoral vice-president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez.

“There is no way for a country, a society, a family to close its doors and not let them go to work, do the market, you reduce their income by 90% and that society and that family are not affected in daily life, there is no way,” said Rodríguez from Monagas state during the meeting with productive sectors, in the context of the Great National Pilgrimage to demand the lifting of unilateral and illegal coercive measures.

In this regard, he pointed out that thanks to the inventiveness of the Venezuelan people, it has been possible to overcome the difficulties caused by the criminal blockade imposed on our country. “We have come out of the critical point of empty minimum income shelves. Today you take to the streets and the shelves are stocked and the average income has increased and is around $200,” he said.

In the same way, Rodríguez stressed that the Venezuelan people, because of their diversity, want peace without sterile confrontation, without sanctions or violence.

“The conflict must be resolved through dialogue, through peace, through method, through the evaluation of contradictions and through the search for consensus. That's not always easy and not achieving it has cost us dearly, it has taken us to extremes side and side,” he explained.
