This Tuesday, in Chile, demonstrators demanded the resignation of the director of that country's police force, General Ricardo Yáñez, for being involved in the systematic repression against the people during the social outbreak of 2019 in the government of former President Sebastián Piñera, which caused deaths and hundreds of injuries.
According to the news agency Prensa Latina, the demonstrators were surrounded by a heavy police deployment, however, they delivered a letter to the police address and to the Palacio de La Moneda, headquarters of the Chilean presidency, where they demand the resignation of Yáñez.
“Justice, truth, no to impunity”, “No democracy can be sustained, without first ending so much impunity” and “The Armed Forces and Carabineros must respond, killing Chileans was not their duty”, were part of the slogans of the anti-government march.
