The National Institute against Racial Discrimination (INCODIR), through a statement, expressed its rejection of the recent expressions of hate and racism manifested in the city of Madrid, Spain, directed against the integrity of the president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez.

The document points out that racism constitutes one of the most aberrant forms of violence and discrimination in human history and was the cause of the genocide of our original peoples.

Next:

Racism constitutes one of the most aberrant forms of violence and discrimination in human history. It was the root of the genocide of our original peoples and the subjugation of millions of people brought by transatlantic trafficking, who watered this sacred land with their blood.

Despite more than a century of struggles and resistances, we observe with indignation the persistence of individuals who seek to justify their prejudices and complexes through racial hatred, trying to validate the indefensible.

From INCODIR, the governing body for the care, prevention, eradication and punishment of discrimination in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, we express our strongest REJECTION AND REPUDIATION of the statements issued at Puerta del Sol, Madrid, by citizen Carlos Baute.

This citizen, in full use of his powers, seriously violated the dignity of the President (E) of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, and by extension, that of Venezuelan women. Their denigrating expressions constitute acts of:

Racism and racial discrimination: using dehumanizing terms based on ethnic and phenotypic traits.

Gender-based violence : when trying to humiliate and disqualify a woman because of her leadership position.

Xenophobia and institutional hatred: attacking the identity of a nation whose greatest pride is encounter, union and peace.

These actions are not just personal offenses; they are serious crimes that violate human rights and seek to harm the

honor of a country that is recognized in its skin, in its Venezuelanism and in its Afro-descendant and indigenous heritage.

Consequently, INCODIR makes an international call to the authorities of the Government of Spain to take appropriate corrective measures and to prosecute this citizen in accordance with the legislation on hate crimes. The fight against racism knows no boundaries and the world cannot be complicit, through silence, in the face of intolerance.

From Venezuela, with the firm voice of a people that does not bow down, we say:

NO TO RACISM!

JUSTICE IN THE FACE OF DISCRIMINATION!
